One day course - intro to digital photography (DSLR only)

This course is ideal for the complete beginner to those with some understanding of digital photography. You will gain sound knowledge and a feeling of confidence. You may be one of those who has a DSLR camera but have relied on the automatic controls - there's so much you'll learn.
 
Even if you are using some of the manual controls on your camera but are not yet confident knowing and understanding the principals - this course will suit you. Your learning experience will be very hands-on without all the fluffy technical jargon. You'll be doing things with your camera you didn't think possible!
 
The day will include sessions in aperture, shutter speeds, exposure control, ISO and white balance. It will also include using the rules of composition to creatively improve your photography. Don't worry if you don't know what any of this means yet - most people don't when they come to us!  Book now, as places go quickly!

Two day course - intro to digital photography (DSLR only)

To begin, we'll recap and expand on all the skills and knowledge you have acquired from the one day course. We’ll all visit a great nearby location, where we’ll take part in an exciting photo-shoot. You will be given a set brief with specific tasks that you’ll have learnt from the previous day’s session. You will have the course trainer with you and you’ll be rolling your sleeves up and getting ‘creative’ by putting into practice everything you have learnt. Practice makes perfect, so this is a great way to become completely immersed and learn at a deeper level.

We'll then head back to review the images taken, so we can 'ooh' and 'aah' at your new creative talent. We’ll advise, critique, give additional tips and techniques, ensuring you have the necessary skills. We'll then be on hand for a Q&A session. Finally, we’ll let you loose on the world,  as you will be itching to use your DSLR, noticing how much your photography skills have been improved and how confident you feel now. London Photography Tour

How would you like to learn to take stunning photographs of some of London’s main tourist attractions? This tour will teach you how to take great images, using the best angles in any weather conditions. Get the best out of your camera, whether it’s a compact or a DSLR. You’ll soon be taking stunning images by learning the tricks, tips and techniques of the professionals.
 
You’ll gain the knowledge to take fantastic pictures in any location and any conditions long after the tour has finished.

This walking tour lasts for 4 hours. You’ll be photographing Westminster Abbey – Big Ben - The London Eye - Saint Pauls Cathedral – The Millennium Bridge – Tower Bridge.

Portrait & Studio Photography (DSLR only)

This one day course runs from either our London or Nottingham studio. We'll give you the opportunity to learn and use all of our studio equipment to take photographs of working models. This is very hands on and we'll run you through everything you need to know about portraits, equipment and lighting. You'll be able to use the shots from the day for your portfolio.

There's nothing like learning by actually getting involved, making mistakes and practicing whilst having our professional photographer on-hand to guide and support you. We'll teach you essential tips, advice and provide you with invaluable knowledge that you'll be immediately implementing whilst having fun and bringing out your own creativity.

For this course, you'll need to be at intermediate level of photography, know your way around the controls of your camera and really want to build on the foundation of knowledge you already have.

Landscape photography (DSLR only)

This is a full one day course, where you'll be outside the entire time learning all the tips, techniques and skills to take fantastic landscape pictures. You'll need to bring a tripod with you, along with suitable clothing dependent on the time of year.

For this course, you'll need to be at intermediate level of photography, know your way around the controls of your camera and really want to build on the foundation of knowledge you already have.

Half day introduction to digital photography (DSLR only)

This is a half day or evening workshop that will provide you with useable, practical and creative skills. You will learn vital information that will enable you to operate your digital camera effectively. You won’t have to worry again about your friends and relatives having to trawl through your holiday snaps without falling to sleep! We’ll give you hands on, practical and creative advice on how to produce stunning pictures that you’ll want to keep – not delete!

Photography Holidays & Weekends

Our photography weekends or holidays run throughout the year in the UK and in Europe. Group holidays are a great way to meet new friends who share the same interest plus you’ll get to learn new skills in a beautiful location. We’ll give you a great experience that you’ll never forget with great value for money. Our photography tutors are the best out there and will on-hand to teach, guide and support you throughout the duration.

One to one training

If you are looking for something more specific or need us to fit in around your schedule, then one to one training will be ideal for you. We call this our ‘get from where you are now to where you want to be’ training. These session(s) are bespoke and tailored, depending on what you are looking to get from them. You will be given a free telephone consultation with one of our team here at Red Cloud. We’ll ascertain your specific needs & goals, timescales and level of understanding. We will then select a photographer / trainer who fits your criteria and quote you a price. These one to one sessions can either be done at a your place of work, your home, out on location or at our training facilities.
